Diglett is a member of Team Rocket and is known as the leader of the team. He first appears in the episode The Bug Stops Here, where he had just captured a Butterfree. He had just captured a Butterfree and was about to take it and leave, but the Butterfree was seen by Ash and Misty and ran off with them, who had just arrived at the gym. However, Ash and Misty gave chase and managed to rescue the Butterfree, where it had just landed near Ash and Misty after Ash had thrown a Poké Ball at it. Ash then decided to throw a Poké Ball at it as well, but this time, he managed to catch it. In the end of the episode, Ash had decided to leave Butterfree with his friends, since it wouldn't be able to return to its home until someone from the forest revived it with a Berry.
