I would like to suggest that these types are not mutually exclusive. I base this on my own experience in working with people of different types. (That may be a surprising statement to some, but I've seen it happen.)
We all want to be happy. And when others are happy we are happy. But that does not necessarily mean that we are mutually happy. Here are four ways we can be and feel unhappy, even when others are happy.
We can feel unhappy because of our own insecurities, which is probably the most common reason for unhappiness and conflict. Some people are just not comfortable with who they are, and they cannot stand feeling that way. They want others to acknowledge how special they are, and how much they matter. If others do not show them the respect they desire, they will feel unloved, unimportant and unneeded. They will feel abandoned, and their happiness will decrease.
On the other hand, some people are lacking self-esteem and confidence. They prefer to listen to others rather than make their own decisions.
