Trevor may or may not be a psychopath: he seems to be a fairly normal guy on the surface, but he has a weird way of perceiving and reacting to things (he was horrified when Abby gave him a puppy, for instance). He's also prone to fits of pessimism. He thinks he's not very good at social interaction, but he's actually really good at it, so much so that it scares him. On the other hand, he seems quite gullible.
Trevor may or may not have a few screws loose, depending on how you look at it. He can come across as a paranoid little creep at times, but he also seems to have a lot of depth, which is revealed over time. He's kind of a mystery wrapped in an enigma.
