This is the one where we’re really going to rip into the idea of Type as a Construct. There’s an awful lot of cognitive dissonance here at play; there’s actually a decent amount of cognitive dissonance as far as I can tell in general as far as people’s perceptions of themselves and of other people.
I’ve seen discussions where people have said “Well, I’m not an ENTJ or ESTJ or ISTJ or…” and then they give me a list of personality types they think they are. And it always seems to be a list where I’m like “Wow, you’re a lot more introverted than you believe you are, and a lot less extroverted than you believe you are.” Or “You’re more introverted than you believe you are, and a lot less extroverted than you believe you are.”
