O.J. Simpson personality type is ESFP, which makes it easy to see why the character worked so well. The character was also written well, and he had a very fun personality.
The only real problem with the character is the show’s treatment of his relationship with his mother. It’s not that they made it into something that it wasn’t, but the character came across as slightly uncomfortable in his interactions with her. It also left me wondering if the writers planned on doing anything with this aspect of his character down the road.
That said, I’m not sure how much of this was the writers’ fault and how much of it is due to the fact that O.J. Simpson himself was not exactly the most friendly person to be around.
Regardless, this is one of the strongest guest stars to ever appear on Criminal Minds, and he should be brought back sometime in the future!
