Echo personality type is ESFJ, the second-most common among the Myers-Briggs types.
According to Piers Vitebsky, an associate professor of psychology at the University of Essex, the ESFJ’s “winning personality” is based on what he calls “the J/E mix,” an amalgam of the childlike qualities of the extraverted judging type (J) with the conscientiousness of the introverted feeling type (E). He said that this combination makes for a person who is “extremely loyal and dedicated, but not entirely mature.”
“They are very much about their job,” he added. “They are very much about being good parents. They are very much about being good caregivers. So they are very much about helping others, but not quite as mature as the ISTJ or the ISFJ, for example.”
This loyalty holds true in an ESFJ’s personal life as well. ESFJs are known to be “pillars of support” for their friends, family members, and co-workers, often serving as a voice of reason for others.
