The band's 1996 eponymous debut album is the quintessential example of the band's sound. Ten songs and an hour and a half long and overstuffed with overdriven guitars and artless lyrics, it's like a punk record that was recorded in a day and then stuck in the back of the studio for an extra few weeks. The production is too thick and there's too much going on, but that's what makes this such an easy listen. "I was trying to make the most perfect musical statement I could make," says Alexakis, "and I think we accomplished that."
