“I’m not afraid to stand up and be counted and defend a point of view that I believe in,” she added. “It’s just the way I am. I think the best part of me right now is my perspective on life and the way I see the world.”
A childhood spent with an openly gay couple has helped shape who she is today. “It helped me develop to be a more empathetic person, to be more understanding,” she said.
“And it definitely taught me that everybody is different, but everybody is also the same,” she added.
