But once I became familiar with him, he began to display a lot of the other characteristics I've seen mentioned in various articles on ENFPs: much more introverted and reserved; an exaggerated need for social validation and approval; a tendency to be overly sensitive to criticism; a yearning for harmony and understanding; a tendency to use others as a means to an end; a strong need for independence.
I'm not a psychologist or psychiatrist (whatever that is), but I'm pretty sure the last two characteristics on this list are related to the difference between ENFP and INFP, although it's not something I'm qualified to explore. But saying that, I know it's been said before and I'll probably be told it again: ENFPs will sometimes take on the characteristics of their dominant function, but usually not all of them.
