Typing this up on an airplane, I was thinking of the fact that my first language is Spanish, but my second language is English (and I am actually not fluent in either). I didn’t want to make the first language part of the name. I thought about making it a part of the middle name, but I decided against it. I wanted the name to be easy to say and spell.
Charter
Given that it is a ship, I thought it would be fun to have a small piece of the name be from the ship’s charter. I don’t have a clue what a charter is, but I looked it up and I think it’s a document that a ship owner gives to a ship’s captain that says that the ship can go to a specific place. I thought it would be kind of cool if the name was “Empress” as a ship as well as an individual.
