They showed one of the most drastic differences between the two girls, however, being far more mature and far less flighty than her best friend. While she was still too young to be considered a reliable narrator of her own experiences, she nevertheless showed a lot of potential as a writer, who was interested in the same things that her friend was.
As a result of her best friend's influence, she became more mature and less dependent on her parents. She started to take an interest in reading and literature, and also started writing. When she was 12, she wrote her first accepted story, and when she was 14, she wrote her first published novel.
When she was 16, she was picked up by a television production company for a pilot episode about the lives of young people who write stories. It was to be aired in the summer of that year, but it was cancelled when it was discovered that she had been writing since she was 12.
