Simon Clark personality type is ENFJ, i believe. He's a good man, a good father and a good friend. I don't think he is a "bad" man or a bad father, but he had a bad childhood and has trouble understanding the concept of forgiveness. I think this is mainly because his mother was really hard on him. She was so overbearing and abusive that he became very defensive and defiant. As an adult, he has trouble trusting people. His coping mechanism is to be very gentle with people, but still very firm. He tends to be very protective of people, even if they are not his children or even if they are not worthy of his protection. He also has difficulty trusting himself, so he tends to overcompensate with others.
I found out that his father died when he was only five years old. I don't think he ever got over it. I think this was partly why his mother was so hard on him, because she was also trying to deal with her own grief by attacking him. When he was 16, his mother died. He has never gotten over it either. I think this is why he is so hesitant about getting involved with someone new. He's afraid that she'll leave him too.
