“The summer of 2016 was a rough one. I had finally moved out of my mother’s house and was living on my own again, but I’d forgotten how tough it can be to do so. Between work and school, there just wasn’t enough time for me to do everything that I wanted to do. It was also the summer that my dad passed away. My mom and my sister were both dealing with their own issues, and it became increasingly difficult to balance everything and still enjoy life.
When it came time to pick a superhero for the summer, I went with my favorite: Batman. I wanted to honor my dad and also show my love for the Dark Knight. I don’t think I could have chosen a more perfect choice for this particular summer than my favorite superhero.
I got the tattoo on June 6th, 2016, just three days before my birthday.
