I’m not sure whether to be insulted or not.
If I were him, I wouldn’t care if I was being referred to as a “nerd” because I would just think that was a good thing. If I were her, I probably wouldn’t think that was a bad thing.
I know I used to really hate being called a “bookworm”, but I’ve come to terms with it. I have no intention of being a “nerd”. What I like about books is the time they give me to escape from reality and the sense of accomplishment I get from finishing them. I don’t see myself as a “bookworm”, but as a “reader”.
I guess the best thing about all of this is that we can all call ourselves what we want and not be insulted by it.
