Ieyasu personality type is ENFP, in which case, he's probably a Christian. But I'm not. I have no idea. (And if anyone ever sees this, please tell me what the "Ieyasu personality type" is in the comments.)
(I'm also assuming that the Ishin-shishi in the scene are not members of the Yagyu clan. It would be odd if they were.)
In any case, there's another interesting observation that this book provides. The Ishin-shishi are not just a group of sword-wielding gangsters. They're also a group of people with a special skill that is essential to their way of life.
Even though it's just a matter of looking at the scene, there are a lot of things we can learn from this passage. I'll go over my favorites.
1. No matter how they look, they're not soldiers.
The Ishin-shishi are wearing standard samurai armor and helmets. They're not wearing the armor of a professional soldier, like you might see in a time period movie. They're wearing armor that matches their lifestyle and their skill set.
