    Puyi is a fairly quiet individual, preferring to observe the world before speaking out. This is in stark contrast to his more outgoing brother Pujie, who is very talkative and always has a smile on his face. While Puyi is fairly quiet, he can be quite intimidating when he does speak up, and he is often quick to anger. He often believes in the use of force to achieve his goals, believing that he alone is capable of leading China to greatness, and he will go to any length to achieve his goals.

    While Puyi can be incredibly determined, he can also be incredibly indecisive, to the point where he will simply sit around all day doing nothing. He is prone to bludgeoning people with questions, but often raises issues that are not immediately relevant to the task at hand. He is often extremely idealistic, believing in the goodness of mankind and their inherent love for one another.

    In 1932, after the Japanese invasion of Manchuria, the puppet state of Manchukuo was established by Japan, and he was chosen to become "Emperor" of the new state using the era-name of Datong (Ta-tung). In 1934, he was declared the Kangde Emperor (or Kang-te Emperor) of Manchukuo and ruled until the end of the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1945.
