He hailed from Barsoom City, a small fictional city located in the middle of the United States which is partially based on the city of Los Angeles. He was an orphan who was raised in the slums of Barsoom City by his uncle. His uncle, who was an inventor, taught him many things when he was young. It was later revealed that his uncle's dying wish was for Invincible to meet fellow superheroes, Blue Beetle and Booster Gold.
