I’ve been a fan of Clotilde Hesme since I first saw her at a poetry reading in Paris at a young age. Her poems, which were mostly free verse, were quite beautiful and perfect for the French language. She has since been a poet and playwright, but her first love was still writing poetry.
In “Ispettore Miller” she wrote about her favorite book as a child, “The Secret Garden” by Frances Hodgson Burnett. In it, a young woman has a very difficult time being accepted by the children at the orphanage, and she escapes into a garden to find relief. She finds a boy her age there and they become friends. I’ve read this book to my children over and over again. It was a favorite of mine as a child. When I started doing interviews with ISFPs, I asked them what their favorite childhood book was. They all had one, but they were all different.
Clotilde Hesme (born 30 July 1979) is a French actress who has worked in both film and television. She is known to international audiences for her role in Lupin (2021).
