The first time I heard about this type was when I first read Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People. The first time I actually read the book, I was about 15 years old, and was pretty much running away from my own parents. While this book helped me to learn how to better deal with my parents, it also helped me learn how to build relationships with people who are not my parents, but are important in my life.
This book was an eye opener. I learned about how to relate to people, which I thought was pretty amazing. I didn't really know what I was doing at the time, but I knew that I wanted to learn more. I started reading everything I could find about personality types, and decided that my personal goal was to learn everything about them.
I always wanted to know what made people tick, so I would soak up as much information as I could. I read anything I could get my hands on, and usually ended up having to read the same book multiple times because I didn't quite understand it the first time.
