Her early career was not without controversy, though. In 2013, Oshima was accused of being a fake singer by her rival, actress Miki Matsui. She even accused Oshima of using a hidden camera to secretly film Matsui for a music video.

Yuko Oshima (大島 優子, Ōshima Yūko, born October 17, 1988 in Tochigi Prefecture) is a Japanese actress and second generation member of Japanese idol girl group AKB48, of which she was the captain of Team K. She is one of the group's famed "Kami 7" along with Atsuko Maeda, Mariko Shinoda, Mayu Watanabe, Minami Takahashi, Haruna Kojima, and Tomomi Itano. Oshima was also a member of the AKB48 subunit Not Yet.
