Greg Evans personality type is ISTJ, but I have been raised from birth in a book-reading, film-watching, politics-following family with a rich history of history buffs. I was exposed to a lot of different styles of conservatism in my youth and I feel that I have a fairly developed understanding of the worldview and its appeal.
The problem is that my supposed understanding of what conservatism is and how it is supposed to work does not seem to be very well developed in my head.
I have a sort of mental block when it comes to really understanding the conservative worldview. It’s not that I don’t think I understand it. It’s entirely possible that I do understand it, I’ve just been exposed to a lot of different ideas on the subject. I think that the problem lies in not understanding how it actually works.
I understand that conservatism is about preserving the status quo. I understand that conservatism is about protecting things from change.
