I am a very open and tolerant person, and yet I sometimes feel a bit of a wall around me. I always try to be open with everyone I meet, but at the same time I’m afraid that if they see too much of my true self they may think less of me, or that I’m not worth their time. For this reason, I’m careful to keep my true emotions well hidden. I don’t know how to tell people exactly what I’m thinking, because I don’t want them to judge me. I’m afraid that they might think that I’m crazy or odd for having these thoughts, or think that I’m trying to manipulate them somehow.
When I want to be more open, I try to tell people how much I care about them, and how much I enjoy spending time with them. The problem is that if I try to show my feelings too much, people might find it weird or off-putting. So if I feel that someone is making me uncomfortable, I try to change the subject as quickly as I can.
Sui Ishida (石田 スイ, Ishida Sui, born December 28 1985) is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known for his dark fantasy series Tokyo Ghoul, a story about a young man named Kaneki Ken who gets transformed into a ghoul after encountering one. Tokyo Ghoul started as a series of one-shots in 2010, one of which garnered second place at the Weekly Young Jump 113th Grand Prix.
