She was raised by Kakashi until she turned three years old. He then passed her on to Yamato for two years. At age five, Yamato left her in the care of another clan's jōnin before returning to her village. He would later be killed by Orochimaru. After the end of the Second Great Ninja War, she would be placed under the care of Tsunade, who would train her personally until she was twelve years old. After Tsunade left the village, she would be placed under the care of Sakura Haruno until she turned thirteen years old. Sakura would take her in after she had to complete a dangerous mission. Sakura would later marry Sasuke Uchiha.
