As a result, I tend to feel uncomfortable when perceiving information that conflicts with my worldview, especially after I have invested a lot of time in it.
My worldview is quite conservative, and I see things through a lens of logic. I am more likely to be uncomfortable with the world when the information I am processing is conflicting with this worldview. It is almost as though I try to ignore the conflicting information because it feels uncomfortable. I have had to learn to accept the contradictory information, but it is still very uncomfortable.
I have learned to be more tolerant of the uncomfortable feelings of cognitive dissonance, but it has been a slow process. I have also learned to actively seek out contradictory information so that I can process it. This allows me to overcome my discomfort.
