In the fall of 1985, after a series of small, very personal jobs, I was hired to help a small company with office management. When a manager was needed, a candidate was chosen from a list of CPA firms. Our firm was asked to submit a name for consideration. I was chosen, and I became a manager in my own right in September of 1986. In the early days of the company, my job was mostly to help train others. In late 1987, with a move to a larger office and with the addition of new employees, I became responsible for managing the office. I found it easy to delegate most tasks and to adjust to my new position.
It was during this time that I learned about my introverted and intuitive preferences and began to understand and accept them. I started to more fully incorporate these preferences into my life. I identified myself as an introvert and an intuitive, and I began to modify my style and some of my behaviors more in accordance with these preferences.
I felt that both of these preferences were fine for me, but I did not know how to use them fully.
