Guillaume Lecointre, born February 28, 1964, is a French zoologist and systematist.
In 1993, he obtained his PhD for a thesis on the "Study of the impact of species sampling and sequence length on the robustness of molecular phylogenies: implications on the phylogeny of Teleosteans" at the University of Paris-Diderot [1]. In 1998 at the same university, he obtained his habilitation to direct research following his thesis on 'the relationships between homoplasia and congruence of traits in phylogenetic reconstruction'.
