“I’m not really a creative person. I guess I’m an ‘idea’ person, but I don’t really get inspired by my surroundings or ideas,” he says. “I like to think of myself as a creative thinker and a creative doer. I like to look at things and make them better and improve them and make them better, rather than just sit around and talk about it.”
What he loves to do is make things better, and he has developed a pretty cool career doing just that. After graduating from the University of Maryland with a degree in history, he got his start in public relations, which he describes as “basically telling people how to get their job done.”
“I had my own public relations firm, which was my first professional job after college,” he says.
His company was hired by the Maryland football program to handle all of the athletic department’s public relations needs.
