For me, it's always like this. personality type is INFP, so I'm very empathic and understanding of other people. I can even be really understanding of myself. But whenever I'm upset, I can't help but want to lash out at something or someone. It's just how my personality type works. It's also why when I'm upset, I get into an "emotional meltdown" and act all out of sorts. (That's where I'm at right now, by the way.)But I've learned to control this. I can do it, and it's not that hard to do. And it definitely doesn't mean that I don't care about others. I do care about others. I care about my friends and family. I care about my friends' feelings, and I care about my friend's inability to see what's happening with me. I care about my friends' ability to see what's happening with me.
