I’d like to take a moment to talk about the media’s role in our current political crisis. I also want to talk about Trump’s response to the events in Charlottesville and how it relates to his personality type.
Trump does not have his own “fake news” media. He does have a lot of fake news in the media, and that is a problem. There is a difference between legitimate criticism and fake news. The latter does not mean that it is untrue; it means, however, that it is not objective or truthful. The same is true of the president’s own tweets (often written under the guise of “in reference to…”). These should be taken with a large grain of salt. The fact that he often sends them while watching Fox News tells me that he has a problem understanding what is going on in the world and that he cares about what is going on in the world (and therefore cares about information that confirms this).
