The first thing we need to look at with any character is what sort of person they are, and to understand what sort of person they are, we need to understand what sort of person they want to be. This is because there are different kinds of people who want to be different kinds of people.
For example, one kind of person wants to be an idealist.
Hijikata Toshizō (土方 歳三, May 31, 1835 – June 20, 1869) was a Japanese warrior. As Vice-Commander (副長, Fukucho) of the Shinsengumi, he resisted the Meiji Restoration.
