    Description

Anastasio Somoza is a young man in his late thirties. He has the appearance of a fit man with short-cropped gray hair that he keeps neatly trimmed. He has piercing green eyes that are always on the move. His face is rather angular, with a short, pointed nose, high cheekbones, and slightly pointed ears. He has a lean, muscular frame, but with wide shoulders. He is always impeccably dressed and groomed, and wears a tie regardless of his current occupation. He is the type of man that other men and women alike will look to for leadership and direction.

He has an extremely charismatic presence that is often mistaken for arrogance. It is true that he does have a high regard for himself and for his work, but it is clear that he cares about his colleagues and his employees. He is also surprisingly down-to-earth and friendly, and people often feel comfortable around him. He can appear arrogant or dismissive, but this is almost always because he is thinking about what he wants to say or do next, and not because he's putting others down.

Anastasio "Tacho" Somoza García (1 February 1896 – 29 September 1956) was officially the 21st President of Nicaragua from 1 January 1937 to 1 May 1947 and from 21 May 1950 to 29 September 1956, but ruled effectively as dictator from 1936 until his assassination. Anastasio Somoza started a dynasty that maintained absolute control over Nicaragua for 55 years. The son of a wealthy coffee planter, Somoza was educated in the United States. After his return to Nicaragua, he helped oust President Adolfo Díaz. He became the foreign secretary and took the title of "General". With the help of the US Marine Corps, which occupied Nicaragua at the time, Somoza became the head of the National Guard. This gave him the power base to remove his wife's uncle, Juan Bautista Sacasa, from the presidency, and make himself president in 1937. In 1947, an ally nominally succeeded him, but he retained power.
