Billy's personality type, in my opinion, shines through in the way he interacts with others. He's in it for the laughs, he doesn't have a lot of close friends, and his life is so wrapped up in his family that he often forgets to think about himself. He's really just an extrovert with an inferiority complex, trying to be the best father/husband/whatever that he can be.
It seems that he really admires his father, but he doesn't have the confidence to be as good of a parent as he wants to be. He's constantly trying to make it up to his father for what he did to him, but it's hard when you want to be both a good father and a good husband. As the episode progresses, Billy is revealed to have a soft spot for his son, but at times he can seem very judgmental toward him. This is especially true in the final scene where he tries to remind his son that not everyone at school is evil, but ends up being too harsh on him.
