Ramiro Ledesma Ramos (Alfaraz de Sayago, May 23, 1905-Aravaca, October 29, 1936) was a Spanish essayist, philosopher and politician. Director of the Conquest of the State, was a key figure in the intellectual articulation of Spanish fascism. Allied with Onésimo Redondo, both of them founded in 1931 the Juntas Ofensivas Nacional Sindicalistas (JONS), which merged in 1934 with the Falange Española of José Antonio Primo de Rivera and Julio Ruiz de Alda to give rise to the Spanish Falange de las JONS ( FE de las JONS). Faced with Primo de Rivera, he was expelled from the organization in 1935, returning, after failing to reactivate the former JONS, to engage in intellectual activity. After the start of the Civil War, which surprised him in Madrid loyal to the Second Republic, he was arrested by militiamen and finally shot during a prisoner take-off. He was known for being a true left-wing fascist.
