Necker is the only Necker-like figure in history. The Swiss banker, who headed the Committee of Good Government of 1788, is best known for his letter to George Washington, written in September 1788 (and printed in full in The Life and Opinions of Monsieur Necker, with a Sketch of His Character) advising the Americans that they should embark on a long-term plan of economic development, and not worry so much about the immediate crisis. There's a tendency among some INTPs to idealize the Necker-like figures who have come to their rescue – the last time they were rescued was by George W. Bush.

Necker-like figures are usually visionaries; they are also people who are not afraid to do things differently. They often have a strong sense of right or wrong. They always have a moral compass, and they will be out to make a difference. They are often very intelligent and articulate people who have a great capacity for leadership, which is why they can make such a difference.

Jacques Necker - at the time pronounced [nekʁ] and not [ne.keʁ][1] - born on September 28, 1732 in Geneva in the Republic of Geneva and died on April 9, 1804 in Coppet in Switzerland, was a financier and politician from Geneva, Minister of Finance of Louis XVI. He is the father of Madame de Staël.
