    William Wilberforce
    INFP

    INFP (2w1)

William Wilberforce personality type is INFP, and in my mind he is an idealist in his own way.

The real Wilberforce was a Christian and a social reformer. He was a very sincere and moral man who believed deeply in his campaign to end slavery in England.

You might be surprised to hear that many people in England at the time, particularly the upper class, were in favor of slavery. Wilberforce was a bit of a radical in his time, and when he finally got around to acting on his beliefs he was shunned by many of his peers.

He formed a small group of like-minded people and they began looking for ways to help the slaves escape their bondage.

At the beginning of his campaign he was so passionate and driven that he gave up his business and traveled around England to gather support for his cause. He found an ally in Thomas Clarkson, a young man who would later become one of the most important abolitionists in history.

Wilberforce and Clarkson then started working on convincing Parliament to pass an act outlawing slavery throughout the British Empire. They were finally successful in 1833 when the Slave Trade Act became law.

William Wilberforce was a British politician, philanthropist, and a leader of the movement to abolish the slave trade.
