Kösem Sultan personality type is ISTP, so I can't say what percentage of ISTPs there are in the world as a whole, but I definitely know that I'm an ISTP. I also know that ISTPs are not as easily categorized as the other Myers-Briggs types, and I have a theory as to why. ISTPs are more comfortable being themselves, and being themselves means being different from other people.
The ISTP personality type is a bit of a mystery. The three letters don't really define the entire personality type, because the ISTP personality type is a mixture of introverted sensing and extraverted thinking, with a healthy dose of intuition thrown in. Many ISTPs seem to have a strong inner knowing that they can trust their intuition, which would explain why many ISTPs also have a strong sense of ethics and morals. In fact, one of the best descriptions of an ISTP is from a very old Myers-Briggs book from the 1970s:
"The ISTP is an individual who thinks and acts first and explains later. They want to take action and see what happens. They like to be on the move and not tied down to any one place or task.
Kösem Sultan also known as Mahpeyker Sultan was one of the most powerful women in Ottoman history. Kösem Sultan achieved power and influenced the politics of the Ottoman Empire when she became haseki sultan as favourite consort of Ottoman Sultan Ahmed I (r. 1603–1617) and valide sultan as mother of Murad IV (r. 1623–1640) and Ibrahim (r. 1640–1648), and grandmother of Mehmed IV (r. 1648–1687).
