Our study found that in the UK, there is a proportional increase in the number of ESTJs who are working in the criminal justice system, compared to their contribution to other occupations.
The results of this study could be used to inform the development of personality assessments that can be used by employers to identify those most likely to succeed in the workplace.
The findings from this study do not necessarily mean that individuals with a particular personality type are more likely to engage in criminal behaviour, but these results suggest that ESTJs may be more likely to engage in criminal behaviour, than other personality types.
Out of all the ESTJ respondents, only 5% said they had been a victim of crime in the past 12 months. This was higher than the proportion of respondents who reported having been a victim of crime in the past year (2%), but significantly lower than the proportion who reported having been a victim of crime in the past 5 years (5%).
In terms of gender, almost half (47%) of male ESTJs reported having been a victim of crime in the past 12 months, compared to 26% of female respondents.
