    As a child, Alexander often had a hard time with his teachers. He was a bad student who skipped school to go hunting and play in the fields. He was not a good student in school, but he managed to learn a lot by studying in his free time. He learned how to be a good king by learning from the best in Greece and even in his own army in Egypt.

    Alexander was a very good soldier and a good general, but he made a few mistakes in his battles that turned out to be fatal.

He spent most of his ruling years on an unprecedented military campaign through Asia and northeast Africa, and he created one of the largest empires of the ancient world by the age of thirty, stretching from Greece to northwestern India.
