Roger Wayne Marshall (born August 9, 1960) is an American politician and physician serving as the junior United States Senator from Kansas since 2021. A member of the Republican Party, he served from 2017 to 2021 as the U.S. Representative for Kansas's 1st congressional district, a mostly rural district covering much of the western and northern parts of the state.
In January 2021, Marshall joined a group of Republican senators led by Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz in an unsuccessful effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. On January 6, he voted in support of the objections to Pennsylvania's and Arizona's electoral votes, both of which were overwhelmingly rejected by the Senate, 92-7 and 93-6 respectively.
