As the Executive Director of the YWCA of Queens, she has worked with many of Queens' most influential women. She has also helped to train women for careers in the medical profession, at the School of Allied Health Professions, at Queens College. She is currently working on a book about her experiences with the YWCA. She lives in Queens with her husband, Peter. They have two sons, Patrick and Jason, and two dogs, Radar and Tessy.
