I'm an ISTP, so I've had to deal with him on several occasions.
As far as his personality goes, I can't really say that I understand it very well.
I know that he is very serious, but not in the way that most ISTPs are serious. He is serious in the sense that he is always taking things seriously. He takes his work very seriously, but not in the way that most ISTPs take their work. He does not take his work seriously in the way that most ISTPs take their work.
He is very good at dealing with people, but he doesn't really do it for fun. He is not a "people person" in the way that most ISTPs are. He makes friends with people, but he does it when he has to, not just for fun. He does not do it just to be friendly or to have people around him.
He is not the kind of person who just wants to have fun all the time.
