The following is an excerpt from the book “Personality Types: Jung’s Model of Human Nature” by Carl Jung (pages 284-286) (footnote).
The Extraverted Intuitive (ENFP) and the Introverted Feeling (NF) are both service-oriented extraverts, whose dominant function is their extraverted intuition. They use it to gain information, see the situation as a whole, and then decide how to act. (They can also use it to gain information about other people, but this is less common.) These functions are both concerned with the object level. The introverted feeling is primarily concerned with “how it feels” to the person, and the extraverted intuition is primarily concerned with the object.
The introverted feeling functions are not so much concerned with what happens to the person as with what happens to the object. For example, if an ENFP is responsible for handing out the wrong tickets, he will be upset that his mistake cost someone money, but he will not be upset that he made a mistake that cost him money.
