She was not good at it at first, however.
“I was terrible,” she said. “My first play was in seventh grade, and I had to audition for it. I didn’t get cast, and I cried for two weeks after that. Then my mom took me to the theatre, and I started getting cast. That’s when I started getting good.”
Her first professional acting job was in “Into the Woods” when she was 13 years old, and she continued to play characters in plays throughout her life.
