I fell in love with the ISTP personality type in Mary Weber's short story, "The Devil's Belle." Two years ago I was certain that I had read it before. It was the first time I heard of the ISTP personality type. I rushed out to buy the book and sure enough, it was just like I remembered it.
I didn't realize that this personality type had its own type of hero until that moment. The ISTP personality type is often drawn to law enforcement or to work in the service industry where their independent nature can make them successful.
A few weeks ago, I read an article about ISTPs in the New York Times. I don't remember where I found it, but I bought the book "The Secret Lives of Men" by David D. Miller... it has a section on ISTPs in it. Miller describes ISTPs as "the rebels of the personality spectrum."
