I knew I was ESFJ, but I didn't realize I was a mother until I saw the results of the test. The results were a relief, because I knew I was able to relate to my husband, but also a little scary, because I didn't want to be a bad mom!
I'm not a bad mom. When I found out I was ESFJ, I was happy to learn I was a good mom. Since then, I've come to realize that being a good mom is not about following a list of rules or accomplishing a bunch of tasks or having all the answers. It's about love and compassion. It's about being connected to people and showing up as a nurturing source of affection and support for those you care about.
Being a good mom is about showing up and being present.
This past week, we had our annual family Christmas party. It's a big event and we always have an incredible time, but this year felt different. I wasn't sure why. We had our usual great food and music and fun games and presents, but it just didn't feel like Christmas.
