Alicia personality type is ISFJ, and I am INFJ. I ask: Why does this person reject my help and advice?
A great example of this rejection is in the movie "Love and Other Drugs," where the main character, Anna, is given "romantic advice" by her best friend, Kate. That advice is that she should tell her husband that he is boring and needs to find a new job. Kate's advice is rejected by Anna, who says: "I can't do that." Kate's reason for giving such an advice is that she cares about the relationship. However, Anna explains: "I can't do that because I am afraid he will leave me." This is a classic example of the ISFJ's fear of abandonment, which she engages in through her desire to be of service and her desire to be understood. This fear of abandonment then causes the ISFJ to reject the advice offered by the INFJ.
This is not to say that the ISFJ is incapable of self-service. In fact, in many ways, the ISFJ is quite capable of self-service, especially when they are in the role of being a therapist.
