I am a Biochemist, focusing on synthetic biology, which is the study of how bio-molecules can be artificially modified to create novel molecules, new materials, or new functions.
What inspired you to move from your current profession to the world of finance?
My interest in the financial sector was fueled by my background in chemistry and my experiences in biotech. I recognized the potential for alternative business models that could leverage disruptive technologies to help bring down the cost of healthcare. I thought there was a real opportunity to make healthcare more affordable and accessible.
How did you get started in the industry?
I first got involved with the industry through my work in biotech. I was able to form a partnership with biotech companies, and helped them develop business models leveraging disruptive technologies to deliver life-saving drugs to patients in developing countries.
