Personality type is not a fixed set of characteristics. It is a set of preferences with respect to different sorts of data. For most people, the most important sort of data is their own behavior and the behavior of others. The most interesting sort of data for most people is how they interact with the world.
This means that a person's personality type is a matter of degree, not a matter of kind. The characteristics that fit one type may fit another, just as the same data may have different meanings for different people. In particular, one's personality type is not a matter of how much one is like another person.
For instance, an INTP looks kind of like a Judging personality type, but they are in fact more like a Perceiving personality type. Likewise, an INFJ looks kind of like a Feeling personality type, but they are in fact more like a Thinking personality type.
We can make a small number of simple statements about personality types, but they don't tell us much about the individual person. Psychological theories are not about individuals, but about patterns in behavior.
