"I don't really remember life very much, for the most part," she says. "I'm pretty sure I was always like this."
Risa's ISTP personality type makes her good at empathizing with others and sorting things out logically. "People tell me I'm practical," she says. "I go about things logically and don't get caught up in emotions or irrational decisions."
But she also has a pretty strong sense of her own emotions and her own wants. "Growing up, my father and I used to talk a lot," Risa says. "We were pretty close. And I know that when he told me he wanted to kill himself, that was when I realized that he didn't want to be around anymore."
Risa's father was a heavy drinker, and when he eventually reached such a state that Risa thought he would actually do it, she took him to a hospital. For a while, though, her mother was very angry with her for putting her father in the hospital, because she felt it was a waste of money.
