Kurotsuno is a fictional character in the manga series "Naruto" by Masashi Kishimoto. Kurotsuno is an adolescent ninja who was raised by a family of fishermen in the city of Anbu. The family is one of the most respected in the village and has held a secret that they are shinobi for years. Kurotsuno's father, Shikamaru Nara, is a member of the Anbu Council and teaches his son how to use the hidden village puppet techniques, but prohibits him from ever becoming a shinobi.
Kurotsuno trains in the art of taijutsu, which is seen as a weakness within the village and is not permitted as part of the ninja curriculum. After his brother, Kurotsugu, leaves for a mission, a group of pirates attack the village to steal their boat. During the attack Shikamaru is killed and Kurotsuuns' mother brings him to Konoha for safety.
